Today is a good day and a huge step forward for gay marriage rights. No it doesn't mean that we will get nation wide gay marriage yet but it still is a big deal, especially if this goes all the way to the supreme court. The only thing I have to wonder if why are we having this fight anyways? Why is it that giving gays the same rights as anyone else isn't as obvious to everyone else that it is to me? So recently I wrote a public letter to Target asking about their political contributions to anti-LGBT canidates. I sent a copy of this message on to Target asking for comment and I have recieved a response.

Dear Alex Tanner,

Target has long believed that engaging in civic activities is an important and necessary element of operating a national retail business. What's more important than any one candidate's stance on a particular issue is how we nurture thoughtful, long-term growth in the state of Minnesota.

So yeah I deactivated my facebook, twitter, and identi.ca accounts. I did this but then I found how alone it made me feel so I reactivated my acounts. I am feeling a little less heartbroken now but still feeling pretty sad.

I just really can't stand the constant sadness that comes from having friends and perusing love. I am done with love and I am done with Facebook, Identi.ca, and Twitter. I am pretty much just going to hide away in my room for eternity. Friends just hurt too much.

When I was looking for jobs I saw that you had received an award from Human Rights Campaign and I was both surprised and very pleased and it made wish to work for you. So yeah you didn't hire me but that's alright, I know there are more qualified people out there and you had limited openings. This is not why I write this today. I write this because it's been found that through your "Minnesota Forward" campaign you have been donating money to Tom Emmer who funds the anti-gay rock band "You can run but you can't hide" who's lead signer has said in interviews wonderful gems like the following "On average, they molest 117 people before they're found out. How many kids have been destroyed, how many adults have been destroyed because of crimes against nature?" So Target this is what I ask you, if you are going to pretend to be this LGBT friendly business and having the HRC logo on your careers page.

So yeah I was getting shit for drinking alone. Apparently it's "depressing." I am told its supposed to be a "social event." Well I have no issue with social drinking I also enjoy drinking alone. When I drink alone nobody cares what random shitty television show becomes funny in my drunken stupor.

So yeah I have become a cashier for a local grocery store and I am quite enjoying it. I will enjoy it more once I get paid for the first time.
