Looney Labs Interview Part Two

Question: Alright other than Looney Labs products what games do you yourself enjoy playing?

Response from Andrew Looney:The honest truth, at this point, is that I've become pretty badly prejudiced against games other than my own. (I think that's fairly unavoidable for someone in my position.) I do try out new games pretty often, because I'm curious about what they are and how they work, but as soon as I've groked them I usually lose interest. But of course there are exceptions...

Curious technically not Tuesday anymore. sue me.

the slow cracking of my brain on caffeine and cramming

GalaDarling started a new thing with her blog, curious tuesday. i need to write to get my head out from under the textbooks it's currently squished under. also, she's kind of becoming one of my new heroes. she reminds me a little of weetzie bat sometimes. and anyway, she's awesome. i wish i could be... not her, but more like that sometimes. you know, with the renlentless fabulosity and bright, cheery outlook on life most of the time and the ridiculously glamorous life. mostly the first two.

anyway, since it's been Wednesday for the past hour (the day of tricky gods and black winged birds) and i missed the first one i'm gonna answer the questions from that one, two. becuase i missed it. and it's a cool idea. hope you'll bear with me!

"I Looked inside myself and saw the battle that has been happening." - My Dad

I have made it official, My Con going days are over.
Not that I wished them to be over, it's just I have so much to do, I won't have the time or the money to go anymore since I will be working towards college, a new home, and Moving to that new home.

the dead of winter, dead of night

the monthly siren that will probably cause me to one day walk outside during the apocalypse, because i can't tell time.

you're gone, right down to the smell of you, and it isn't just bereft grief i'm feeling. you have somewhere to go, and i feel like the anchor that held me close to earth is gone. like i could float away at any moment, fall out of my skin and keep falling til i hit the cave where love buried a man who was said to age backwards. and of course everything is happening at the same time as everything else. there is no twin to go to, because the twin feels betrayed or something, over something that was never his business.

According to Andrew and Kristen Looney Looney Labs has signed a contract with Universal Studios to publish a card game based on the movie "Back to the Future." As both a Looney Labs and as a fan of the movie I am really excited. Currently it's planned to come out in September. I have requested a review copy so hopefully I will be able to review it here.

Looney Labs Interview Part One

"Chop Suey" by System of a Down

I was originally planning to post the entire interview together in one giant post but due to the amount of time the interview is likely to take and how long the first response from Andrew Looney is I think I will now post each response separately as they come in. I have created a tag to put them all together called Looney Labs Interview.

Question: I guess my first question is can you give my readers a little bit of a backstory about Looney Labs was started. How the staff meet each other? What was it like starting a game company, and how were the early years?

"Handlebars" by Flobots

So yeah I decided I wanted a CLI podcast client that I could run using cron every half hour. I wanted all the new episodes to show up on my Desktop so that I could listen to them and then delete them. I tried a couple of ways to do this first using mashpoder which is based on bashpodder and then deciding on just bashpodder. I modified bashpodder slightly so yeah here's what I did.

Comedy Central Pussied Out

"Time of the Season" by The Zombies

Southpark's latest episode has got to be one of the funniest if not the funniest one yet, except for one thing. Turns out that Comedy Central pussied out to actual Muslim extremists and removed all references to Muhammad and Islam. I hope they can comprehend how incredibly ironic that is considering that the episode was not bowing down to extremists. This episode was full of bleeps and anytime someone mentioned Muhammad and black bars were shown any time they showed an image of him.
