i really like the look of decoden'd mobile phones, but they're just... well... they're too over-the top. i like the elegant aspect to lolita as well as the sweet aspect, and not only do i not want a phone which makes my boyfriend's eyes bleed, but i want one that wouldn't look out of place with my more simple, everyday gothic lolita attire. so what i want is a little, beautiful, but subtle decoration, not a phone that weighs five pounds because it's so full of whipped cream and rhinestones and glitter and cupcakes and strawberries. i'm thinking that if i got a black plastic case of the type you put over your phone to protect it and make it a different color... i think they're called faceplates? the guy in the mall sells them, but they're not black. anyway, if i got a simple, black plastic shiny case that covered my mobile phone, i could glue a few things to it instead of straight to the phone in case i got tired of it, and i could use all black, white, and silver deco pieces.
instead of something like this:

i would like to add only a few deco pieces, i was thinking a few roses, a lovely black and white cameo, maybe a little heart and one small cake, and then a handful of little rhinestones or pearls, something like polkadots maybe, or like these two nintendo ds's. i like the whipped cream look, but i feel i'd look silly holding something with a lot of whipped cream up to my ear... it's too cluttered and would really only work if you're a full time sweet loli. even then... i feel like the over-the-top cell phones have a gauche feeling to them. the phone i'm thinking of would look more like something designed by baby, the stars shine bright or victorian maiden.

if i do it, i'll take lots of photos and set up a tutorial on su, for other people who want decoden phones.
also, i do like the look of the whipped cream, there's an etsy store that sells purses with the really over the top decoden cream and pearls and fruit and candy style, and i may buy one of those. just... it seems wrong for a cell phone... you can only have one. you can switch out your bag if it doesn't go with your clothes.
for more info on decoden, here's a link to a blog magazine article. there's no wiki yet! wow. that's... i feel so obscure.

about your deco den project
yes, volumy deco den is something created with a lot of karacter when it comes to sweets and stuff.
my suggestion: buy a few (cheap) cell phone protectors/faceplates/covers in different colours and switch them each once in a while.
one black one in EGL style, a hime/sweet one and a... idk? funky, trendy everyday girl?
^^ those phone cases are full but somehow not over the top (at least I consider so) simply because it's meant to be overloaded.
the only negative aspect I see are the prices of all those cabochons and rhinestones... I never have enough!
