folding@home

Folding@Home bash script

For some reason folding@home doesn't always launch right unless you are in the folding@home directory so I created a small bash script that will allow users to issue a "fold" command that will start up a terminal with folding@home in alltray.

Download it here and edit it with your username where it says to, and then copy it to your /usr/bin directory

Note: to use this you need to have alltray installed. If you don't run a simple: sudo apt-get install alltray

Have fun and happy folding

Cool Folding@Home Tray Terminal

So here's the deal. It's kind of annoying to have to launch folding@home manually every time you log in. You can have it run invisibly in the sessions settings but then you can't look at it as well. So I can came up with a way to run folding@home from a terminal in the tray.

Folding@Home on Ubuntu

So this is pretty basic stuff but I decided to give this tutorial for anyone that doesn't already know this stuff. Don't feel bad if this pertains to you because we were all newbs once, including me.
