I am happily listening to my DVD/CD from Serj Takian's Elect the Dead Symphony. For those that don't know Serj Tankian (singer for System of A Down) teamed up with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to do a concert. They also released a DVD/CD combo which I pre-ordered. I just received it and I freaking love it. I would highly recommend any Serj Tankian fans or just general music lovers to check it out.

so i kept hearing all these amazing things about the"wizard rock" band harry and the potters." and i finally dl'd "voldemort can't stop the rock!" today. i'm listening to it right now, and i have to say i am vastly disappointed. i guess since harry potter has long hair and emotional problems (actually legit ones!) they thought it should be an emo album? i don't really know... i was expecting something like the most excellent "doctorin' the TARDIS" by the timelords... the feeling you get when you listen to that is 100% pure fangirlish glee. there are DALEKS! and omg! the TARDIS!

Most everyone probably already knows this but I feel that I want to get it off my chest.  Marilyn Manson's new Album "The High End of Low" sucks.  It lacks that hard in your face sound, it is less shocking, and all together sounds pretty hollow.  Even the best song on the album "Arma-goddamn-motherfucking-geddon" (which by the way is a really annoying title) is second rate.  Has Marilyn Manson stopped trying?  Well that's all I really have to say except that if you are planning on buying this album, Don't.

i am going to go to nobrandcon this year, and despite very good advice that says not to, i'm going to attempt to dance. or at least, i'm going to hang out in the dance room and play with glow sticks like a small child. there is a reason i am going to do this. because i have requested some songs, and because some other people i know have also requested some songs who have good to decent musical taste, and i want to see how many of these songs they actually play, and how much techno they play. i hate techno.

So iv'e been working on some tracks that im hoping i will be able to have pressed to vinyl. Only problem is I don't have the money for that :/ so the better option would be to get signed to a small label that will have it pressed for me. Finally decided to try my hand at making a shell script that is useful tonight. The result is two scripts that allow me to automagicaly move and re-tag MP3's from Last.FM recommendations. The first script assumes all the mp3s are on the desktop and the second script move the completed files to the main Last.FM recommendations folder. (click for More)

Sitting behind the counter sinking my teeth into the skin of a red delicious and thinking... i was upset a while ago, that wild, world ending sad that happens to me sometimes... and i felt like this song so i kept singing it to myself... at first it made me feel better, to have those words that so perfectly expressed what i wanted to say, but as the night went on i cheered up and started to sing other songs... i kept singing that one, though... ever have something stuck in your head?

so i wanted to use the art of the mix to put together the track list for the cd i'd burn to take to work if i wasn't currently sans pc (how depressing!) but the site's all messed up because someone hacked it and they're trying to fix the bugs. damn them.
