My Long Awaited review of Monty Python FluxxWhen I first received Monty Python Fluxx I was impressed by the box. It was bigger than other fluxx decks and I really enjoyed the artwork on the front. It really conveyed "this is a Monty python game" very well. The only thing that I wished they would have changed about the packaging is unlike the basic fluxx deck they don't list how many ways there are to win (31). Now that we have covered the packaging lets talk about what's inside the packaging. The cards are the same high quality I have grown to expect with Looney Labs games. Like other fluxx games they used a different font in the card type titles to differentiate it from basic Fluxx. I wish they used a font that was a little less similar to that of the Basic Fluxx but it works.
For seasoned Fluxx players it's very easy to pick up and play. We had no real complaints or problems. For new users it was a different story. With the added complexity of creepers it was a little harder to explain to new users. For new users I think it would be best to start with basic Fluxx. So here are a couple of my favorite cards included in this version of Fluxx. Favorite New Rule: Fake Accent, If you speak with and outrageous fake accent during your turn you many play 1 extra card. Play 2 extra cards if you've kept your accent going since your previous turn. Favorite Goal: The Cheese Shop, You win if you are the only player in possession of absolutely nothing, i.e no Keepers, no Creepers, and no cards in your hand. Favorite Action: And Now For Something Completely Different, All players push their Keepers to the player on their right, their Creepers to their left, and their hand into the discard pile. Everyone then draws a new hand of 3 cards. Favorite Keeper: The Catapult, If you have this on the table, once per turn you may move another of your Keepers to another player, then discard one of that player's Keepers. Favorite Creeper: The Knights Who Say "Ni!", You cannot win if you have this unless the goal says otherwise or a card is on the table with the word "It" (or It's) in its title. I would defiantly recommend anybody to try this game whither or not their are a fan of Monty Python or Fluxx. The only thing is that players new to Fluxx should probably try playing Basic Fluxx first and than pick up this game after getting a good feel for Fluxx. |

Yup, the game is simply awesome. Loved every bit of it. but as I was new, I needed a bit of time to get the hang of the whole thing. once I did it was great. And you review covered all the important and fun aspects of the game. Good job with it. Cheers
Den:
I see this version of Fluxx really impressive. Being a Monty Python fan for a few years I need to check this out anyway. Thanks for your review.

Yes, that crazy card game where the rules keep changing has joined forces with Monty Python to create the Looneyest card game ever! Help King Arthur and his Knights find the Holy Grail. Bring a Shrubbery to the Knights Who Say Ni! Lob the Holy Hand Grenade at the Killer Rabbit with Nasty Big Teeth! Just do it quick, before the Goal changes again!
