i love to cook. i love it i love it i love it!
i am considering going to cooking school, actually.
so maybe i'll put some recipes on here to share with all of you who don't cook so often. this one is always a favorite with boys and men, so you shouldn't make it for one you don't want to keep. it was my stepdad's favorite as well as my ex boyfriend's and one of my sort-of brothers. you can serve it over any kind of pasta from ravioli to penne to vermicelli and it's great with or without parmesean. it doesn't take long but it tastes great and makes you look like a cooking genius. later i'll post a recipe for a full sauce that doesn't use anything canned, but i still want to tinker with that a bit.
you will need:
1/4 of a large onion, chopped into small pieces
1 to two cloves garlic
1/2 a pound of hamburger or other meat of your choice, chicken and steak work well, my brother likes sausage. just make sure to chop it up small. it's good without meat, too, if you are a vegetarian.
a tablespoon of olive oil
1 can of store bought tomato sauce (not ragu or i will kill you, it's ketchup in can! hunt's is good and cheap, i use that a lot.)
canned or fresh mushrooms, chopped zuchinni, etc, are optional
slice the onions and the garlic and mushrooms, making sure to get the garlic pieces as small and thin as possible, and cook on high in the warm olive oil until the onion pieces are translucent. stir in the meat and zuchinni if you have it and cook until the meat is browned. if you're watching your weight, drain off some of the grease. add the sauce and stir occasionally, until it starts to bubble. serve over pasta of some kind and possibly garlic bread.
Interesting. I could try it
Interesting. I could try it with my vegetarian alternative to hamburger.
Take a look at my figure and you can tell that I love food, and the best part about food is experimenting with it. I've come up with creations that my friends and family have loved!
